Tindale Sisters 1840 Sampler Thread Pack & Chart
These two charming Sister Samplers were created in 1840. Their parents were Robert and Mary Tindale who had a large farm that did quite well. By the time the mother was 82 (dad passed away they still owned 135 acres employing 4 laborers and 3 boys. Roseannah Tindale never married and died a "Spinster". Her little sister Elizabeth married Charles Knapton and they had 3 kids. I will write more about their story in a separate blog post as there is a lot to report.
The Thread Pack contains all the Flower thread you need to complete both samplers and the paper pattern. A total of 10 different colors.
Chart for both samplers, enough Flower thread to stitch them both - eleven 40-yard bobbins!
This design is stitched on 32ct linen with Ginnie Thompson Flower threads. Soft muted colors and a pleasing composition make them so charming, they almost have a touch of primitive.
There are no over-one areas so this sampler lends itself to linen or Aida.
