A gorgeous American sampler that is over 260 years old. Sarah was only nine years old when she created this beauty, that in itself is utterly mind-boggling. The sampler is mostly symmetrical except for a few flower stems. This could be stitched either way and is a personal choice. The original model was stitched with silk on linen and measured 13.25 by 13.25 inches. Judging by the design and materials little Sarah grew up in an upper-class home.

For the model, 32ct linen natural linen and DMC threads were used. 16ct Aida would be the equivalent to the linen

Stitched Area: 215 x 215 stitches, 13.5" (34.1cm) wide by 13.5" (34.1cm) high

Fabric Size: 19" (49cm) wide by 19" (49cm) high this includes a 3" (8cm) allowance on all sides for finishing or framing

Two strands of floss are used for all stitches and satin stitches by the hand area of each little person. The satin stitches go over multiple threads, these are not little backstitches.

Further fabric size options:

14/28ct 15.5" x 15.5", cut fabric 21" x 21"
16/32ct 13.5" x 13.5", cut fabric 19" x 19"
18/36ct 12" x 21", cut fabric 18" x 18"
40ct 10.75" x 10.75", cut fabric 17" x 17"
46ct 9.25" x 9.25", cut fabric 15" x 15"

The chart consists of a color image of the finished design, instructions, and a list of floss colors; A color & black and white symbol chart are spread over several A4 sheets for printing. Including a single page graph for Patternkeeper.
