Sarah Guy 1875 Miniature Sampler Project Bag

Sarah Guy stitched her charming miniature sampler in 1875, when she was just 11 years old and living in Bottesford, England. This project bag features artwork taken from Sarah’s original antique sampler, with its softly aged fabric, delicate earthy colors, and beautifully balanced motifs printed across the pouch.

Sarah originally worked her sampler with silk on perforated paper. The stains, fading, mistakes, and other signs of age visible in the artwork have been intentionally preserved from the antique. They are part of Sarah’s story and the printed design, not flaws in the pouch.

Measuring approximately 12 x 8.5 inches, this generously sized zippered pouch has room for a cross stitch chart, embroidery hoop, folded fabric, floss, scissors, and other stitching essentials. It is ideal for keeping a smaller project together at home or bringing your needlework along while traveling.

It can also be used as a makeup bag, an art supply pouch, or for storing embroidery fabric and accessories safely away from dust.
