Mysterious M Sampler Pattern 1800s Printed Version

Such a delightful miniature sampler to add to your collection, from England. The original was stitched with silk on woolen cloth. The original size is 1.75 by 2.25 inches!!!! I designed it slightly larger, but still miniature. It is believed to be from the early 1800s. The mystery is, who is "M".

The measurements given are for 36ct natural linen over two threads or 18 Aida cloth. Two strands of floss are used for all stitches and satin stitches. The satin stitches go over multiple threads, these are not little backstitches. Charted in 3 types of threads for you to choose from. If you want to stitch this in the original tiny size it would have to be 46ct over one thread.
