Mary Ann Batty is a sampler from England. She was born June 10th 1832 in
Netherthong, Yorkshire, England. Her father was Charles and her mother
was Betty (Elizabeth Brierley) - Betty Batty - too funny. She was the second
oldest of nine children. I wonder if she chose that verse because her little
sisters Emma (age 5) and Hannah (age1) passed away that same year. Mary
Anne only lived to age 23 and died on December 24th 1855.
The original was stitched on linen using wool, measuring 16 x 14 inches.
