The Wishing Thorn
Elizabeth Foulger 1875 Sampler Pattern
Elizabeth Foulger 1875 Sampler Pattern
This is a magnificent sampler of a very young girl from Bungay England. There are some adorable mistakes that I did correct in the chart. We can leave all the quirkiness in honor of sweet Elizabeth who made this sampler so unique. There will be a blog post with some of her history. Such a beautiful red and blue sampler. Perfect if you can't decide which style, you like better! It could easily be converted to all blue or all red if you are a collector of either. Read about Elizabeth’s story.

The original was stitched on 14 canvas-type fabric. The measurements given in the pattern are for 14/28 ct fabric. Aida works well as it is all cross stitches. Two strands of floss are used for all stitches.
The pattern consists of a color image of the finished design, instructions, and a list of floss colors; A color & black and white symbol chart spread over several A4 sheets for printing.
Thank you and happy stitching!
