Tindale Sisters 1840 Two Samplers Together PDF

These two charming Sister Samplers were created in 1840. Their parents were Robert and Mary Tindale who had a large farm that did quite well.

Rosannah’s verse 
“I give immortal praise
To God the father’s love
For all my comforts here
And better hopes above
He sent his only son
To die for sins that we have done”
 
Elizabeth’s verse 
“The lilies of the Field
That quickly fade away
May well to us a lesson
Yield Who die as soon as they”

This design is stitched on 32ct linen with Ginnie Thompson Flower threads. Soft muted colors and a pleasing composition make them so charming, they almost have a touch of primitive.

There are no over-one areas so this sampler lends itself to linen or Aida.

Design Area

Roseanna: 143 x 173 which makes the sampler 10.25 by 12.50 inches on 14ct/28ct

Elizabeth: 137 x 173 which makes the sampler 9.75 by 12.50 inches on 14ct/28ct

Cut Fabric sizes include 3 inches around all sides for finishing should be for each sampler:

14ct/28ct 16" x 18"

16ct/32ct 15" x 17"

18ct/36ct 14" x 16"

20ct/40ct 13" x 15"

Use two strands of floss when using DMC and one strand when using Flower thread.

**Flower thread is not recommended for smaller counts than 18/36ct. It works easiest on 16/32 count. I have stitched an entire sampler with it on 36 count.

This pattern consists of 18 pages of color and black/white charts.
