The Pre-order closed on 4.28.2026 to order all supplies.

You will receive: depending on your choice,

14 spools of 100/3 silk
1 specialty thread (for her name and year)
1 Linen 36 or 40 count or Aida 18 or 20 count (27 by 27 inch piece)*
1 Catharine Corse Chart (charted in DMC & Au Ver a Soie Silk)
1 surprise chart
1 newly released Pouch

*The fabric will be Vintage Country Mocha. It was difficult to find the same fabric available in Aida and linen that had the correct hue without overpowering. There are always so many linens, but seldom good Aida choices. Two other choices I had could not be imported at this time. Another benefit of this fabric is you can stitch on front or back (see image), giving you essentially two choices of which both will work for Catharine.

Miss Catharine Elizabeth Corse, 1848, is the first New York City sampler in my collection—a true Brooklyn girl. Born in New York, she later married, had four children, and remained there until her passing in 1907.

I am absolutely thrilled to have her. Not only is she breathtaking, but she is also quite unusual, having been stitched on perforated paper. Her name is adorned with French cut steel beads, many of which have beautifully aged and rusted over time.

That she created such an elegant and refined piece at just nine years old makes her all the more remarkable. I hope you love her as much as I do.

Thank you and happy stitching!
