An 18th century embroidered applique Bible Cover depicting the sacrament

An embroidered and applique bible cover, 18th century and later, depicting the sacrament beneath angels and a dove, with scrolling religious verse 'domne jesu miserere nobis', (Lord Jesus have mercy on us) Normal anitque aging and some loss in the embroidery. The applique is older than the velvet cover (19th century)

In polychrome and gilt threads mounted upon purple velvet, edged with rope detail, to cover 12.5 x 9.75 inches (at fault).
