Ada was just 13 years old when she stitched her delightful sampler. It oozes charm and happiness.When she was born about 1839 in Pembrokeshire, Wales, her father, John Davies, was 33 and her mother, Mary, was 35. She married Morris Griffith in 1860, they had 1 son and 6 daughters. One other son died early not even a year old. They lived in Pembroke St Mary, Pembrokeshire, Wales. Ada died in 1917 and Morris in 1926.
The model was stitched on 36ct "Century Brown" by R & R fabrics and with Classic Colorworks overdyed cotton threads.
This pattern can easily be stitched on Aida cloth and lends itself for beginner sampler stitchers.
The original antique sampler measures 16 by 16 inches, which requires a 30 count linen - cut fabric piece should be 22 by 22 inches.

Cut Fabric sizes include 3 inches around all sides for finishing;
14/28 count - design size is 17.25 x 17.25 cut fabric 23 by 23 inches
16/32 count - design size is 15.25x 15.25 cut fabric 21 by 21 inches
18/36 count - design size is 13.50 x 13.50 cut fabric 20 by 20 inches
